Wheat Farrier Works was established in 2021 by Katie Shaw. She attended Heartland Horseshoeing School and graduated their Practical Farrier course. Heartland is one of the top schools in the nation and draws students from all over the world. From the foundation built at school, Katie has dedicated herself to the well-being of your equine companions. She is passionate about continuing education to ensure she’s up-to-date on today’s best practices, while incorporating time-tested traditional methods to keep your horses sound.

Why the name Wheat Farrier Works? Wheat is my mother’s maiden name and the last name of my grandmother. Two incredible matriarchs who instilled curiosity and perseverance into every part of my being. They always believed in me, no matter what I chose to do with life. Carrying on this name and legacy in my business is just one small way I can honor these amazing women who taught me that I can do anything and be anything. This is my brand and I wear it proudly. I look forward to serving you and your equine companions for years to come.
